Worthwhile sights in Alta Badia

An insight into Ladin history and culture

Sights in Alta Badia? Many of our guests are surprised that there is not only an extraordinary natural landscape to discover around our hotel in Val Badia/Gadertal but also traditional Ladin customs and traditions. In fact, the Ladin language and culture have been preserved for centuries in our formerly inaccessible valley (as well as four other valleys).

In the Ladin Ciastel de Tor Museum you can learn interesting facts about the history of the more than 30,000 Ladins living in the Dolomites. The museum in the Thurn castle also offers entertaining insights into the archaeology, geology, tourism, economy, and crafts of the region. Special exhibitions with Ladin references extend the depiction.

When you spend a holiday at our hotel in Alta Badia, you can easily reach the trendy winter sports resort Cortina d'Ampezzo. The Olympic Winter Games took place there in 1956 and today numerous guests enjoy themselves on the ski slopes and in the charming boutiques.

Not far from our design hotel in South Tyrol is the medieval town of Brunico/Bruneck, often referred to as the “Pearl of Val Pusteria”. The four city gates and the picturesque town houses from the 15th and 16th centuries create an enchanting atmosphere.
